This policy explains what personal data the Vice City Attack & Defense (VC:AD) community forum at vcad.thijn.ovh collects, why, and what rights you have. It is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible
The forum is run by the VC:AD staff team. For privacy questions, contact an administrator by private message on this forum.

2. What we collect

• Account data: username, display name, e-mail address, password (stored only as a salted hash), date of registration and last login, and anything you add to your profile (avatar, signature, location, birthdate, website, custom fields).
• Content: posts, topics, polls, attachments and private messages you write. Private messages can be read by their recipients and, when needed to enforce the rules, by administrators.
• Technical data: your IP address and browser details when you register, log in, post or report content. These are used for security, spam and ban-evasion checks.
• Game statistics: if your forum name matches your in-game name on the VC:AD game server, the forum shows your public game statistics (kills, deaths, captures, playtime, rank) from the server's public webstats, together with round results and kill feeds. These statistics are already public on the game server's stats pages.

3. Why we use it (legal basis)

• To provide your account and the forum features you use (performance of our agreement with you).
• To keep the forum safe: preventing spam, abuse, cheating and ban evasion (legitimate interest).
• To send e-mails you ask for or that are needed for your account, such as activation, password resets and notifications you enabled (performance of agreement / your settings).

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

4. Cookies
The forum uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie and, if you choose "stay logged in", a login cookie. Fonts are hosted on the forum itself, so no font or tracking requests go to third parties. The forum currently uses no analytics or advertising services; if that changes, this section will be updated to list them.

5. Links and embedded content
Links to Discord, YouTube and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies. Embedded videos load content from those services only when shown on the page.

6. Who can see your data

• Public: your username, profile fields you make public, and your posts.
• Administrators and moderators: the data they need to run and moderate the forum, including IP addresses.
• Hosting: the forum and game server are hosted by our hosting provider (EU-based).

7. How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Posts may stay after an account is deleted, shown as a guest, unless you ask for them to be removed. IP addresses in logs are kept for 12 months.

8. Your rights
You can view and edit most of your data in your profile. You also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion ("right to be forgotten"), restriction, or to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. To use these rights, contact an administrator by private message on this forum. We will reply within one month.

9. Children
You must be at least 16 years old to register, or have permission from a parent or guardian.

10. Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes too, and you may be asked to accept the new version the next time you visit.
