Group Stage Information

Stage 1
Groups

In the group stage, 56 participants are organized into two groups, each containing four teams. Each group undergoes its own round-robin tournament to determine the best two teams within each group. The two teams who will loses will play the loser bracket matches after the group stage.

Teams, you have been placed into groups with random seeding. You may complete your assigned matches in any order, but it is your responsibility to complete them in a timely manner.

Find your group here.

You will play exactly one match with each other in your group. If you'd like a list of matches, you can find them in the Group Standings thread.

A referee team will be assigned in every match who will be responsible for the peaceful play. If you've trouble finding the referees, you may let us know at our discord channel in "contacting referees" channel.

Matches Organisation

Teams can start discussing the schedule of their matches from today. They've to do it on the relevant board - "Organize Matches" by starting a new topic on the board. No specific order to be followed, whoever in your group is available to play, just go ahead. Only captains can discuss the schedule so other members should avoid making comments in the topics.

Posting Match Results

After completing a match, the admin/referee will go to the match schedule topic and post logs. Teams are requested to check the logs thoroughly once they are posted considering there could be errors sometimes.

In-game Rules

Upon the following list, we let you know the rules of the tournament, fundamental for everyone in the community to follow who are participating.

  • No death evading
  • It is forbidden to quit, suicide with /kill or intentionally crash VC:MP when you are about to die. This is sanctioned with severity.
  • No accessing into others' accounts
  • You cannot play from an account that is not yours, attempt to breach against the security of accounts, blackmail into another player's account, or any relative action that implies you impersonating another player. This will be punished with a ban.
  • The maximum level of lag permitted is 300 Ping and 25 FPS. Whoever is above 300ms and below 25 FPS, will be automatically removed from the ongoing match. If you have connection issues it is encouraged that you fix them before applying to the event.
  • RPG close range is prohibited. Using RPG within the range of 20m will lead to removal from the round instantly and the opponent who was killed will be added back in the round at the same position where he got killed. Round will be paused for re-adds and removals for minimal damage/loss. Three RPG warns will lead to a ban from the set in the rest of the tournament.
  • Any attempt from moderators or administrators of abusing power in favor or against a determined team, using administrative commands in order to gain the advantage of them, will be issued a penalty.
  • No wall-glitch. Wallglitch is automatically disallowed by the script in this event. However, there is a possibility of wg in a few bases such NPM, we request you to avoid doing it otherwise it may lead to a replay of the round without any second start.
  • Any illegal modification, aimbot, airlock, speed hack, gravity hack, or related hacks that produce an unfair advantage over other players will be sanctioned with the strictest punitive action.
  • Respectful Behaviour
  • Racism and unnecessary chaotic behavior is not tolerated. (Trash Talking is only acceptable to a healthy extent, don't take it too far.)
  • No arguments with the staff team. If you think you've been wronged, just put up your problem to the head referee in the match instead of initiating arguments and your problem will be looked into.
  • Usage of Greenless mod is prohibited. You can be asked to take a screenshot mid-round by the staff if you seem suspicious, in that case, cooperate with the staff team. Any attempt to quit, while you're being asked to snd a screenshot will be considered as evasion and proper measures will be taken against the evader.

Organisation Rules

  • No match will be played without a referee. In every match, you will be assigned a head referee who will make the final decision regarding any mishappenings during the event and other referees must follow the task assigned to them.
  • The maximum waiting for the match to start is 20 minutes. Staff will wait for twenty minutes and if the opposing team fails to show up, the match will be given to the team who kept waiting. However, If the waiting team wants to postpone the match and play at a later date, it is fine.
  • If a match is not completed on a set date, a decision on the match will collectively be made by the staff.
  • Staff can't wait more than three minutes after a round finishes. They will run a timer on the screen using a command which will be visible to everyone present thus leaving no excuse for arguments.
  • The match will never be paused or stopped unless there is a bug or any wrongdoings by the staff. Don't request for stopping in mid-round as your request will be discarded.
  • If you find some bug during the event or any wrong decision by the staff, argumentation is fine but leaving the server out of rage is a bad approach. It is requested to do what referees ask you to do and later on you can challenge the decision and it will be discussed within the Executive team.
  • High pingers and low FPS players will be removed automatically from the round. However, they can be re-added only twice if the first blood isn't done and a player who was removed didn't take any damage so far.
  • The head referee's decision is the final word and must be accepted by both parties at any cost. If you still think you were wronged you can take the matter to the executives after the match and your problem will be discussed thoroughly and appropriate decisions will be taken.
  • If you are a captain of a team and your team challenges the decision of the staff managing the match, it is requested that you don't involve yourself in staff discussion. Staff excluding those team players will discuss with head referees and announce the outcomes. Don't disturb the staff while they are in the process of decision-making.

  • All the referees are requested to follow the instructions or decisions announced by the assigned head-referee. If any referee fails to do so will face consequences. However, it is also suggested not to make any fuss during the match, handle it in a mature way.
  • No Leaking. There is no compromise with leaking. Any staff member found leaking the spots to other team or sharing the private conversation with outsiders will result in a direct kick from the staff without any prior warning.
  • Only team Captains or Vice Captains (if allowed by captain) can discuss the schedule, other comments posted by team members will be removed.

Information and News / Auction System functionality
« on: November 21, 2021, 09:59:42 am »

For everyone to understand better, we have prepared an explanation of how the auction system is gonna work in this season. Here is also a list of commands and their usage on Discord (where auction will take place). As a reminder, it's very recommendable that if you have a doubt even after finishing the lecture of this topic, you ask an administrator or any of the personnel to clarify it.

How will the auction work?

  • An "auction" is hosted before the event starts. A Discord bot will be hosting the auction script on the MAGNA Tournament Series channel.
  • Each team leader is given $200 credits to spend in the auction and form their team of 8 players, composed by 5 men in a primary squad and 2 substitutes.
  • The script will randomly pick players from the pool one-by-one and then the bidding will start.
  • Each team leader will put a determined amount of credits if they want said player in their team. The highest bidder, wins the bid and gets the player.

List of commands

!help - You can use this command to display the full list of commands.

!auction - Shows the current player on auction and the winning bid amount.

!teams - Shows the current roster of all teams and the cost of each player.

!credits - Shows the amount of money remaining for all leaders.

!status <player name> - Shows the current status of an applicant (team name, winning bid amount etc)

!bid <amount> - Submits a bid on the ongoing auction (Only for team leader ranks)

Information and News / Event Format and Base System
« on: November 13, 2021, 05:16:44 pm »

Event Format

The teams are going to be divided into two groups and two teams classified per each. The four classified teams will dispute direct matches at the 'Winner Bracket'. The winner of each match will face each other and the finalist will be gathered out of this battle.

On the other hand, the teams that were third and fourth in their groups will face battles on the 'Loser Bracket'. The difference is that they will have to pass through an extra battle against the losers of the 'Winner Bracket'.

When every match is concluded, the final will be between the team winner of the 'Winner Bracket' and the 'Loser Bracket'. A pictorial demonstration is now presented for a better understanding:

Video Explanation

Base System Information

Eight bases will be dragged out of the base list long before every match. These bases will be dragged randomly - moreover, teams will never know which bases they are going to play.

Twenty minutes before every match, Captains have to be present on MAGNA's Discord Channel. Out of these eight bases, both captains will have to choose 1 that they wouldn't like to play in, so this base is banned. There would remain then 6 bases left.

Then, it will be time for the staff to use !getrandombasefromlist command to fetch one base from these six options. This command will be used four times in order to bring four bases.

It is also important to note that matches happening during the group stage are not going to allow base repetition, i.e., bases that have been played before.

However, in the final stage, teams will be allowed to play bases where they have played earlier.

What is MAGNA?

A heartwarming greet to everyone in the community. Today is a very important day for VC-AD and VC: MP itself: out of the effort of our very collaborative staff, in an attempt to bring some cooperative fun into the game through a new, sophisticated, and breaking event. Today, the VCAD Magna Tournament is being presented. This is a new event that will occur once a year, the schedulement is designed for a short span of time, based upon super random, mixed teams led by experienced captains and players chosen through auction, that will try to conquer the trophy fighting on VCAD.

How can you participate, any limit?

The applications for players that are interested in being taken into account for this event will be opened soon. Currently, the organization of the event aims for 56 participants, scheduled and divided thereupon within 8 teams. Those applicants who came up a bit late will be able to apply for the event though they are going to stand on a reserve pool - so show up early!
Once applications are closed, accepted applicants will be categorized under the two following tiers:

Pro: Those players that are considered very skillful based upon factual evidence of their experience, years in the game, development through past events and won competitions.

Average: Those players that maintain a regular skillful demonstration when needed, have a considerable time playing the game, may from time to time have good performances in events and be noticeable in servers.

Each team will have the same number of players from each tier after the bidding is done.

How to be a captain?

Captains are expected to apply early. The main considerations for a Captain to be chosen, are the historical development and the ability of the player, i.e. overall history, experience, management of groups, and leadership. However, considering there are only eight groups, you should not feel down if you are not picked up. Though we encourage you to throw your application here if you feel that you have enough conditions. Captains applications are to be opened at the same time as Players' applications, though Captains are to be dealt with in the first place in order for them to decide their team name and have everything ready before the auction. Captains are expected to maintain a full activity and responsibility for their team throughout the whole tournament - so this is a 'no' if you are not going to be active and considering to apply. Vice Captains will also be taken and announced before the matches.

In which teams we will play and what is the Auction?

A discord bot will be set up on Magna’s auction channel where the auction will take place. A specific day will be designated where captains have to show up so they can place their bid on players and teams can be sorted. 200$ will be given to every captain. The money has to be used wisely and bid set on their favorite players or best options. After the bid is complete, teams will be determined and players will have to play in their respective teams. If some player refuses to play in the assigned team, a ban from the event will be issued (considering that we have explained the rules beforehand!).

What is the Event Format?

The teams are going to be divided into two groups and two teams classified per each. The four classified teams will dispute direct matches at the 'Winner Bracket'. The winner of each match will face each other and the finalist will be gathered out of this battle. On the other hand, the teams that were third and fourth in their groups will face battles on the 'Loser Bracket'. The difference is that they will have to pass through an extra battle against the losers of the 'Winner Bracket'. When every match is concluded, the final will be between the team winner of the 'Winner Bracket' and the 'Loser Bracket'. Further details about the event format will be disclosed soon.
